There are many misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy. A simple definition of hypnosis is that it is a state of increased suggestibility and concentration. Do not expect to go to sleep or lose touch with reality. Remember, you’re safe and in control at all times.

Hypnosis has been recognized and approved by the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association as a valuable therapeutic tool in medicine. Many physicians and dentists use hypnosis to help promote patients’ healing.

A Brief Explanation of Hypnosis (All Hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis)

When you are in a hypnotic state, you are deeply relaxed physically, yet mentally you are many times more alert than in your normal state of awareness. You hear and respond to everything, and you are an active participant in the therapy. You have greater control over what you will or will not do, and could instantly reject any suggestion that you might find uncomfortable.

When we like and want  the suggestions being given, we allow the suggestions to enter into our subconscious mind. This part of us is like a computer and responds to [our] suggestions.

We are all what the programming in the subconscious mind perceives us to be. If this part of the mind views us as fat, we become fat. If it perceives that we smoke, we smoke, and so on… Yet, if the mind perceives that we are a non-smoker or are slim, then we become that which we perceive.

Using Hypnosis, we are able to access the subconscious computer and re-program ourselves to be whatever we wish to be.

Just imagine all the wonderful things you could do and be.

Hypnosis is a very powerful tool. The effectiveness depends on a person's ability to take responsibility for themselves and their ability to be ready for change. It also produces the ability to experience thoughts and images as real.
